This extract is what's known as an amylase inhibitor, interfering with the enzyme that breaks down carbohydrates into glucose. White kidney bean extract stops the carbohydrates from being eventually converted to fat - they are removed from the body before entering the blood stream.

However, the safety of Carb Blockers and starch blockers is questionable. Another problem with products such as Carb Blockers is the very debilitating side effects. These include gastrointestinal distress, heartburn, diarrhea and excessive gas. Since you have to take these diet pills every day, this can become quite problematic.

Perhaps worst of all, once you stop taking carb blockers you are almost guaranteed to put the weight back on. Taking Carb Blockers and similar diet pills puts your body into a state of turmoil, as it has to change the way it responds to the food you intake. When you eventually stop taking white kidney bean extract, the body no longer has the proper mechanisms it had before to break down carbohydrates, thus facilitating more weight gain.

How many people do you know who took Carb Blockers or other diet products and are now heavier than they ever were? Put simply, carb blockers do not work!

What does work is a weight loss program that addresses the reasons why you're over weight in the first place. An effective weight loss program will provide the tools you need to be successful. It should teach you how your body metabolizes fat. It should also teach you how, when, and what to eat based on the amount of energy you expend in a given day. Your body burns calories to generate energy. When you need more energy than what you are eating (calories) then you body will burn fat for energy. If your intake of calories is greater than what is being burned for energy, the body stores the excess as fat. It's that simple.

Cakes, cookies and candy...those delightful delicacies that we love, yet know are so unhealthy. Full of empty calories and packed with sugar, eat one and gain a pound. Sugar we know, we recognize, and most of us have a love/hate relationship with it.

But eating food with sugar added is not the only source of "sugar" we need to pay attention to.

Bread, pasta, and potatoes (just to name a few) become a "sugar" when digested. Yes, sugar! Our digestive system breaks sugar and starchy foods (carbohydrates) into glucose (sugar) within minutes of consumption; unfortunately, when broken down quickly, the sugar gets into the blood stream. This increases blood sugar levels and is eventually stored as fat. While carbohydrates are the main fuel for our vital organs, too many "carbs" in our diet can lead to weight gain and increased body fat.

Focus on food choices that are slower to digest; good carbs that have more fiber and complex carbohydrates. While all carbohydrates are easily digested, complex carbohydrates take longer to breakdown than simple carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates include: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, bread, cereal, carrots, rice, potatoes, dry beans and corn; while simple carbohydrates include: candy, ice cream, cookies and other sweets. Choosing complex carbs over simple carbs can prevent sugar/glucose from being quickly absorbed into the blood stream. white kidney bean starch blocker
