Overweight adults lose pounds and inches while on a diet that includes bean white extract, two new studies.
In the first study, 25 healthy participants but slightly overweight took 1,000 mg of white bean extract two times per day before meals or placebo for four weeks. Participants simultaneously follow a program to lose weight, including diet, exercise and behavioral counseling. After four weeks, those who took white bean extract lost 6.0 pounds and 2.2 inches in waist size, compared to 4.7 pounds and 2.1 inches for the placebo. While the results are significant, the difference in outcomes between the placebo and the group white bean not.
The researchers then analyzed with 33% consumed the most carbohydrates in the same group and found that white bean group had lost 8.7 pounds and 3.3 inches in waist size, compared with £ 1.7 inches and 1.3 for placebo, which is a significant difference.
In the second study, 60 volunteers who were slightly overweight, weight stable for at least six months, eating 2000 calories diet 2200 calories per day, and take one white bean extract tablets per day before the main meal rich in carbohydrates or a placebo for 30 days . The researchers took several measures body weight and fat at the beginning and end of the study. After 30 days, compared with placebo, there white bean extract groups lost significantly more body weight, body fat, body mass index, fat mass thickness, and waist size around the hips, and thighs, while maintaining lean muscle mass.
The researchers believe that white bean extract keep the body from absorbing complex carbohydrates and allows some of the energy-dense foods to pass through the system undigested, reducing calories. Doctors also believe that the calories that allows it to absorb more slowly through the digestive tract to improve the insulin system and reduce the amount of fat that accumulates in the body.
